Hand poked tattoos are part of a long history of traditional body art. Across the world tattoos have played a key role in many cultures, and continue to empower people today.

Unlike common tattoos, a hand poked or "stick n poke" tattoo is done without the use of machinery.

While still permanent, this method involves a single needle that is dipped into ink and then "poked" repeatedly into the skin. Each poke creates a small dot, and after a number of traces the dots form into a line. As you can see in my gallery, this method tends to have a more organic and delicate look and feel.
